WHOAH it's september. when did that happen?
and now, for something completely different.. (monty python HA)
i am currently sprawled out on strawberry shortcake linens in the loft of a tiny cabin. i share the cabin with my aunt and my little wonderful russian cousin, but get the loft to myself. it's goodtimes.
the rest of my family is at a site futher in the campground. i love camping. well, "camping".
and do you WANT TO KNOW WHAT ELSE IS GOODTIMES!?
well, the tackshack was. fourth in 15-17 eq, boohyah, and i never pin in that. tough competition. the judge was franka's old trainer..(scary!) and thenn..well, i fell off again. painless, though. ducked out at the second fence in an in & out, silly mare. we were getting our spots, too.
on a lighter note, we qualified for the 2'9" hunter classics, and 3' is open to everyone. yipee! oh, and pelhams are amazing. finals are going to be SPIFFY.
and a few days later, steph was like "LET'S GET SCHOOL SUPPLIES!" and i conveniently did not have to babysit caroline.
and then i came home and about fiftymillion friends were there and were like "SURPRISE!!!!". haha i'm sixteen. okay, well not fiftymillion of them.
and that was goodtimes. school friends, barn friends..and..NEIGHBORHOOD FRIENDS! gawsh i love them. especially when, like, mr. leborgne threw me over his shoulder and carried me upstairs. that was classic.
and then we had jumpstart day for school. yay fun.
and thennnn the first real day, and i was sortof like "WHOAH i'm not at pca." and "WHOAH i have a crapload of challenging homework and should probably finish my summer reading."
and i'm thrilled. st.thomas is wonderful-fun-goodtimes. the band (clarinet!) is absolutely AMAZING, and they need a bassist for pretty much everything.
i've made friends in the freshman, sophomore, and senior class, but not a whole lot in the junior class..and i'm a junior, so i should work on that. the friends i have made are pretty much awesome. there's this lunch i have with, like, twenty people in it. and a whole bunch of us are apbiogeeks. they are awesome. it's fun.
it's weird not seeing the same people like a gajillion times a day. there are more than fifty people per class at sta.
and then there's amanderrr and jeremy. of course.
and driver's ed starts next week. kyle dented my car with a softball.
and the cafeteria is AMAZING.
and i want to trade spanishtwo in for latin.
and my goal is to be a nurse.
and i'm done writing.

yesterday was such a barn day. twelve hours of chilling out, goofing off, and PONIES!!! what a way to end the summer.
and now i'm sort of stuck, because i have summer reading. and that's not good. i adore reading..but not when i have school looming ten days ahead. ack.
that's alright, because now you can see how adorable franka is.
awww. she's so fun to chase around in circles.
ooh, my birthday is in ten days, too. hoorah! my birthday always seems to land on the first day of school. or maybe it's the other way around..the first day of school always seems to land on my birthday. i'm not quite sure.
and, erm..oh dear. the nhhja tack shack show in fremont is on the 27th. double points..scariness. i still haven't gotten to where i was before them crutches. gah. two weeks on a couch in the middle of show season is a badbad thing.
finals in september, though..so exciting! AH! new hampshire's are at the chesire fairgrounds in keene on the weekend of the 17th..and maine's are at our barn (YEAH for having a nice facility!) on the 25th. whoot. i think i still need to qualify for maine's, though. oh dear me.

SO.
i'm pretty much wicked staying at WWS. yes. franka gets to keep her "suite" stall next to her bestest friend in the world, sadie mae. and she keeps her big girl paddock. awww.
ANNND, now i won't have to deal with missing folks that i can't bear to part with. so i'll stop now.
OH. so..lesson every week with anna. lesson every other week with danielle runions. lesson once a month with irving. HOW AMAZING IS THAT!? i am so getting my butt kicked this winter.
another OH. I went to the STA guidance counselor and got my schedule all organized. it is the best. ever.

B- AP Biology with Mr. LeClair (and a bunch of seniors, yay.)

and now, a story.
I had a fight with franka today. it was fun. see..i just randomly threw up an over three foot vertical and was like..HECK yeah, i'll jump it. even though i haven't jumped big since before i fell off. she refused. it was my fault..i was looking down and not really riding her to it.
but then i rode her to it..and she refused just because she did a few minutes ago and was like "HA, mom, i REFUSED!"
then i REALLY rode to it..she refused, and i KILLED HER. so we went a-bucking and a-rearing around the ring. it was great. she secretly loves when i get mad at her, because it gives her an excuse to be a terror. AND i ride better, so she's like.."good."
so then she jumped it. then i hugged her and told her how much i love her.
she's a great mare.
then we ate leftover chinese food and watched casey and her cool sunglasses.

OH!!!! I MET HER! my new cousin..the six year old adopted russian girl, julia. us, the cousins, and nan & grampy met my aunt, uncle, and her at the airport when they got back. we expected her to be tired..but after 10 minutes of being shy and quiet, she was flying around their house speaking russian at everyone. she knew our names, though, and has quite the adorable european accent. she's also pretty good at miming, so we could communicate to an extent. she is so, so, so sweet. and loves sitting on my lap and smiling. and running around with caroline. you could hardly tell she didn't speak english, she fit in so well. yay!

ALRIGHT. so pretty much..so much has happened the past few days, i can barely keep track of it. let alone write it all down in an online journal. pshh.
i'll hit a few of the high points that are extremely non-chronological...
-i rode FRANKA today for the first time since i fell off!!!! that was TWO WEEKS AGO. she had barely gotten worked for two weeks..and was an ANGEL for me. gosh i love her.
-i went to mom's boss' BBQ tonight. they had a really neat band comprised of, like, seven old guys that REALLLLLY knew what they were doing. i brought my guitar. it was SO amazing..singing & playing with a band that knows exactly what they're doing..oh my gosh. they are pretty much my idols. i don't have that much musical sense.
-we gave our notice at wws. whoah. i'm going to miss those barn girls ever so badly..but i need to switch barns and get a bit more serious about competing. good thing they live about two and a half minutes away.
-dear allie is gone for a week. this makes me sad.
-STA interview went superbly. we'll know by next thursday. i don't really know how to feel about this..so i'm basically just sitting back and going with whatever happens.
-nikki (best bud 2nd-7th grade and student at STA) invited me to her 16th birthday party. met a bunch of wacky STA folks and slept over. got to see tanya (other best bud), too..hadn't seen her since 7th grade. whoah. crazyyy.
-auntie rosie is bringing her adopted russian orphan girl, julia, home on the thirteenth. hoorah!!!
-i'm sort of worried about switching barns. it's scaryish..i've been at wws for 5 or 6 years and haven't ever ridden anywhere else. not many things scare me..but how my horse is treated DEFINITELY does. i love her to pieces.
ENOUGH. i'm getting overwhelmed just looking at all of this.
well, not really. but i'd rather do something else. lalalalaa.

today is today. and i'm in a semi-rough state..for lauren, at least.
look, i even talked about myself in third person. tsk-tsk.
uhh. enough complaining, pshh.
you know what's really good?..is when you reheat pizza on a skillet. the bottom gets all crunchy..it's pretty much amazing.
my dearest of friends, allie, burnt me the best cd in the world. it has everything from birdland to numanuma on it..yes, that romanian pop song that i'm learning the words to. O_o
bananaphone is also included on it..if you haven't listened to that song, i highly recommend it. it's about the phone you can eat..the cellular, bananular phone. by raffi. go download. now.
okayy. i'm going to a movie with stephanieeee tonight. get to discuss the various states of our equine companions. whoot.

yesterday was way too much fun, bananaphone (now you can have your phone and eat it, too).
sat around icing the gimpy leg in the AM. then ALLIE CAME! we played some major zelda and most definitely rescued princess ruto. again.
thennn..allie took us on a field trip to walmart, little sister in tow. yes, mom let the not-as-gimpy-gimpster (moi) out.
gimped around wally world for a bit..with the walmart gypsies.. XD
and then we tortured allie's madre for a while. we had numerous unforgettable bananaphone-meets-meatloaf experiences...then took another fieldtrip. with cashews. errand-running.
then allie came over again. YAY! ate pizza. played zelda. entertained dad with homestarrunner.com. stupid things happened. we discovered that allie is very thrifty about her fairies.. O_o
and..

caseyfacey & mandapanda came over today. YAY! we watched the saddle club (lol...) & andre the seal. with swedish fish and "semi-sweet morsels". it was very exciting.

and i'm very certain that i will be seeing allie. i can't bear being apart from her for more than a few days. we have to go driving in the Z, anywho.

for one, my leg is feeling better. YAYYY! maybe it was the swimming & the chocolate chip pancakes..
and ALLIE came over again last night. she has been SUCH an amazing friend to me. faithfully visiting the gimpy la every day. that makes me tres happy. teehee. we watched harry potter three..and i would like to ask her how her inner eye is feeling. and all of the silly little comments. that i don't remember. and constantly reminding eachother that sirius and (i won't say who as not to spoil the 6th book) are dead while watching the movie. depressing-ish, yet wonderful.

in my horse i most value: spunk. personality. and a love for showing off.
my all time favorite horse is: Puff taught me how to ride. Franka is my loveable, competitive mare. it's a toss up between the two.
if i could ride any horse from history it would be: any of George Morris' showjumpers.
on a trail ride i would invite: caseyfacey, mandapanda, and calleigh-bo-balleigh. of course.
my favorite event to watch is: jumpers is awesome- the thrills and spills. gotta love eq & hunters, though..see if you think like the judge.
the event i'd most like to win: ASPCA MACLAY!!!! of course. or at least NE's. or at least NH's...hehee.
i'd also like to try: bronc riding. mwaha.
the skill that's been toughest for me to master: thinking. THINKING.
my biggest riding influence has been: ANNA. gosh, she is too amazing for words. or george morris, althogh i don't know him.
my worst habit is: not "thinking".
favorite non-horse pastime: guitaring and singing.
if i had a different job it would be: one that didn't require walking up and down a massive hill in unbearable heat for two hours.

my leg isn't getting better. meh.
on a better note..allie has been faithfully visiting me every day. today she brought over some wendy's, a magazine, and her company for an hour before she had to go back for the second session of her soccer camp. allie rocks my socks. well, i'm not wearing socks. so..allie rocks my ace bandage.
ricky called me. YAYYY! he makes me grin. that's all i have to say about that.
and then..SURPRISE! my doorbell rang and..there was casey and amanda. with their horses in their hands. i was THRILLED..i mean..i haven't touched a horse for five days. they found the eric drive trail! YES. i really, really miss riding. it's getting worse every day..i want to at least visit my franka-pony. hop on bareback or something.
seeing that i can't walk without pain, i don't think that's going to happen.
mum still won't let me leave the house. i do have crutches.

the past three days have been very similar.
i wake up. i sit on the couch with my leg on a pillow, the harry potter book, and an ice pack. allie comes over in the afternoon. we play zelda on the n64 until night time...(or 1 am..) with massive amounts of junkfood.
that's pretty much it. and i'm having a blast. thank GOODNESS for allie keeping her cripple-lalaa company. teehee.
"WOTCHER, HARRY!" and then i spilled chocolate on me. and the parasitic armored arachnids.
zelda is cool. zelda combined with harry potter is even cooler. zelda and harry potter and allie..is, like, the ultimate coolness.
leg's doing better, but still not very walk-able. i try, then i get a sudden spasm of pain and fall over. then i get mad at my leg and try again. doesn't help much.
i finished the harry potter book. all i can say is.."did that REALLY JUST HAPPEN!?"

i finally got to hang out in downtown portsmouth. for the first time EVER. the friendly toast, then hampton fireworks with a wonderful group of pals that i haven't seen for AGES. except ricky. i saw him the day before.
and THEN..show prep.
and THENNN...show at FURNACE BROOK! up at quarter of three and over to the barn. took frankie a while to load on the trailer..jill finally managed to chase the stubborn mare on with a broom. ricky got up before five so he could go & mom picked him up..what a pal.
hunter pleasure was first thing in the morning..and we did pretty bad. anna said.. "if you're used to getting 1sts & 2nds in this class and you're not even pinning, that means the judge just doesn't like you're horse." oh well. next show, irving is a judge. YAY!
and THEN..we had schooling jumpers. 3ft flying around a very small ring with a very huge course. there was this really crazy combination..and i got in bad to the one-stride but got over it..and there was a fence right after it..
and then i seemed to have flown into the standard or something. wasn't frankie's fault. i had a lottt of horse and wasn't keeping it all under control. well. i was in a lottt of pain..my leg kept randomly spasming and was numb and killed even when i was just sitting there. my leg has never hurt that bad. i didn't really want people to know, though..i had to finish my children's hunter classes. so i pinched at the knee with my bad leg and kind of let it swing..it killed. had pretty bad classes but managed to scrape a 4th and a 6th. haha. yay.
thank GOODNESS ricky was there. not only did he come was he very handy when i needed someone to hold frankie or pass me water or try to unsuccessfully shove a fruit salad down my throat..but he made me happy. especially after the falling off incident. i still pretty much can't believe he endured getting up at five and a two and a half hour car drive. both ways. to see a horse show. YAY!
then i loaded franka all by myself with no brooms. took a while. then went to the emergency room. i didn't break it. they gave me crutches and bandages and told me to rest and keep it elevated and stuff. yay.

today was AWESOME. and no barn was involved. amazing, is it not?
sat around and read while eating chocolate chips for a while. then allie was all "MOVIES!" and i was all "YEAHHH!". so i called ricky and was all "MOVIES!" and the poor boy rode his scooter there. then he came over for dinner. YAY!
allie & i saw a squirrel get run over.
ricky has a john deere hat. i have a matching shirt.

i'll start this one with "so basically". just because i do that.
so basically..
OH MY GOSH. i've had an insanely awesome time, as of late. i've hung out at the barn/with the barn all week. all weeeek. last night i had the most amazing riding lesson everr. anna had me going over some massive oxers..very well, might i add. it was classic.
got home and the barn girlies were already there. goofed around with calleigh, amanda, and casey for a while. steph came and we all crowded around the couch with about a bajillion pounds of junkfood and talked. and talked. and talked. and watched lifetime. and talked. and..went to bed around one.
woke up and did the whole water country thing. anna brought us all..it was AWESOME. absolutely marvelous. i've never had such a good time at a theme park-ish place.
mrs. miltner brought us home. she's crazy. she rocks. dover delight..
then a massive trail ride. the calleigh, amanda, and casey crew headed off on the back trail to the county farm fields. a few crazy ponies. a few crazy girls. a lot of "rocking horse" fits. way too much fun.
possibly doing jumpers at the rye show. they have "knock down and out". SO EXCITING. gosh.
ENOUGH ABOUT HORSES. geesh.
well. i haven't really done anything else all week.
now is the time to contemplate some deep subject like i do so often and write and write about it. but i don't really want to. again. i'll just talk to people.

so basically, i just sat around at the barn all yesterday. which wasn't a bad thing.
went on a massive trail with calleigh-bo-balleigh. raced the ponies through fields, attempted to get franka over some haybales, and sat a lot of bucks ("%$*@&!!!! MARE!!!!" hehee). i have some massively disgusting blisters from not wearing gloves and trying to keep franka from tossing me. ouchh.
sat on the couches in the viewing room with a bunch of random barn girls & some wal-mart popcorn for, like, 4 hours. talk, talk, talk. and LJ's story time. then into the tack room for a quite insane tack room partay with amandamanda's cellphone and sailboats.
anyways.
might take frankie in some jumper classes at the rye show this sunday. teehee. tanky mare.
watercountry with the barn tomorrow, whoot.
nothing else is really going on. just horses. and the whole school switching mess. perhaps mom will send my silly lil caroline sister to camp next week, too.

journal journal journal. today is my mom's birthday. journal journal.
AND i found a phantom of the opera soundtrack on casette. how absolutely spiffing is that?
so basically. what's the story with my life at the moment?..hm. let's hit the importantish-but-not-really points:
1-every other week my sister is in camp. marvelous. this is one of those weeks. hah.
2-the horse show was wonderful. i did jumpers and didn't fall off/jump into a standard.
3-we've got most of the paperwork done and have sent it in to STA. all we need is..one more recommendation?
4-dad keeps making fruit smoothies. they're brown. i'm not much of a fruit person.
5-we're like, KEEPING FRANKA!
6-i found the phantom of the opera casette. but i already told you that.
7-i'm NOT going to newcastle for the junior class get-together. i actually had prior conflicting plans. for once.
8-i have a huge bag of walmart popcorn that i'm very proud of. walmart popcorn=good.
9-jill's taking us to the furnace brook show! AH YAY.
well that's about it. except not really. but whatever. i'm not in an extremely pondersome mood.
like, i'm semi-pondersome. but not up to my usual pondersome standard, you know? like. not extraordinarily pondersome. i think i'm more rambly at the moment.
